I had a game I played with myself when I was about 9 years old. I would close my eyes and think myself to the end of the universe, to the edge of space and time, to the edge of existence. And then I would try to step beyond that edge. It’s when my thoughts stopped working the way I knew them which would lead to an intense rush of (what I today call orgasmic) energy emanating from my belly. It was thrilling.
This wonder stayed with me throughout my whole life. It became a search for the deeper workings of consciousness and life. And it married my inner rebel, my inner warrioress. Together they formed what I call ‘The Existential Revolution’.
It is EXISTENTIAL because it addresses (human) existence as such. What does it mean to be human? What makes life subjectively meaningful? What is essential, in this very moment as much as in the long run?
It is a REVOLUTION because it addresses and challenges the status quo of how we humans ‘do us’. If we want to thrive as a species and live in harmony with our planet, we must revolutionize the way we think, relate and act. We must come into deep connection with ourselves and others and base our actions on core values that are directed towards a safe, loving, creative and collaborative future for all beings.
